David began his career in media with News Group Newspapers, the UK's largest newspaper publisher, where he was Advertising Research Manager. David then worked for a number of major investment banks as an equity analyst specialising in media, including Kleinwort Benson, Merrill Lynch and Salomon Smith Barney, where he was a Managing Director. For 7 years to 2001 he was co-head of the no 1 ranked UK media equity research team before taking over responsibility for SSB's global media research product. In 2003, he left SSB and after completing an advisory project for WPP Group he set up IBIS Capital with Charles McIntyre.

We manage a specialist long/short equity fund focused on the global media sector. The fund’s objective is to provide attractive absolute returns with moderate volatility.
